2018 Year-in-Review

New vehicle sales in the Canadian automotive industry came in at 1.985 million this year - the second highest sales on record after a record-breaking year in 2017. It was also another exceptional year at LGM. Scroll down for a recap of our 2018 highlights.

We saw increasing diversification in the automotive sector and LGM continued to embrace the disruption facing our industry, from evolving consumer expectations to new mobility models and everything in between. With few more urgent and compelling issues than climate change, it’s notable that these emerging trends are critical to achieving both the technological and behavioural changes needed to meet our country’s emissions reduction target – something that LGM remains committed to working towards.

The launch of Canada’s first hydrogen refuelling station was a memorable milestone in 2018, as it marked the beginning of a new chapter for the Canadian automotive industry. This breakthrough event demonstrated that collaboration is the key to bringing innovative, sustainable technology to the Canadian market, and we’re particularly proud of the role we played in bringing the station to life with our dedicated partners.

Another big focus for LGM in 2018 was the move to OEM-like claims management. As we roll out online claims, self-authorization and automation in the HUB, we continue to make it easier for our dealer partners to serve their customers better.

We’re honoured to work in partnership with a number of exceptional automotive brands and we continue to strengthen those relationships by anticipating new trends, designing innovative products, and offering an industry-leading customer experience.
